I love to go bowling, and I attend an MS meeting once a week. I’m looking for a patient and kind personal assistant to enable me to do the things I want to do. The ideal candidate should be able to drive my wheelchair adapted van to take me to my meetings on Friday mornings and think of new places for me to go. I am permanently in my wheelchair, which has a motor to make pushing me easier. I am softly spoken and partially deaf, and I am unable to use my hands or arms. However, I have a sharp mind and I am aware of my surroundings. General duties and responsibilities will include: driving me in my wheelchair adapted vehicle administering medication when out flushing my PEG organising and performing household tasks (washing, ironing etc.) gardening support me to go shopping writing letters. Person specification: Listed below are the skills, competencies and qualities that are essential and desirable for the post. Essential: experience in a similar role experience working in care able to work without supervision medication trained for PEG care certificate NVQ level 2 (minimum) GCSE or equivalent patient and kind good communication skills good organisational skills. Desirable: manual handling. Summary terms and conditions: 6.5 hours per week: Tuesday 12pm – 4pm and Friday 9:30am – 12pm the annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work normally done during 5.6 weeks (statutory entitlement).
