The opportunity
The Land Based Industries Department at Barnsley College is seeking a passionate and proactive Catering Assistant to join our dynamic team at the Wigfield Farm Campus. In this exciting role, you will be responsible for providing students and visitors with high-quality food and refreshments, ensuring an exceptional experience across our catering outlets.
As a key member of the team, you will assist in the preparation, cooking, and service of a diverse range of hot and cold food and beverages. You will be instrumental in maintaining the highest standards of food hygiene, customer service, and safety, ensuring that every interaction is positive and professional.
This is a variable hours post, making it an ideal opportunity for individuals seeking flexibility to balance work alongside other commitments.

Required
• Willingness to achieve food safety qualification at level 2.
• Willingness to achieve relevant literacy and numeracy qualifications at level 1
Preferred
• Experience of basic food preparation and cooking
• Experience of using a till point and dealing with payments
