Are you a committed, enthusiastic individual who wants to make a real difference to people’s lives? If so, we can offer you a great opportunity to join our small, friendly team, delivering housing adaptations and assistance to the residents of Cannock Chase District.
Based at the Civic Centre in Cannock, your main duties will be property surveys, drafting of plans and specifications, the assessment of tenders, supervising work on site and associated administrative duties. You will work with a wide range of colleagues and partner agencies to ensure residents’ needs are understood and met and that appropriate support and assistance is provided throughout the process.
You will need to be suitably qualified, experienced and well organised, with a real commitment to enabling people with disabilities remain longer in their own homes and to live better lives.
Essential requirements for this role include:
1. HNC/HND or equivalent in building or construction, or equivalent knowledge and skills gained through vocational experience.
2. Commitment to customer service, the ability to work as part of a team, and on your own initiative.
3. Ability to organise and prioritise workloads along with the ability to remain calm in pressure situations.
4. Written and verbal communication skills sufficient to communicate complex issues clearly and effectively at all levels and knowledge of administration procedures.
5. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook packages, along with bespoke software packages used for the design of housing adaptations.
Possession of a Housing Health and Safety Rating Scheme qualification is desirable.
