Plumbing & Heating Engineer (Mechanical Craftsperson) - RRP £3,276.96

Norfolk & Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust (NSFT) is looking for a skilled Plumber/Heating Engineer to join our existing multi-disciplinary professional maintenance team. This role is vital in providing a safe environment for all service users, staff, and visitors across our Suffolk sites, based at Hospital Road, Bury St Edmunds IP33 3NR.

The ideal candidate would be a Gas Safe Registered engineer; however, this is not essential as we will support and provide relevant training for the right person.
Main Duties of the Job
The work involves both domestic and specialist commercial aspects of plumbing, including hot and cold water systems, ventilation & heating systems, and natural gas systems.
The successful candidate will be flexible, enthusiastic, self-motivated, and confident in being part of a team that provides a comprehensive maintenance service in a unique and varied environment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
* Provide a comprehensive service, including all aspects of planned and routine maintenance and servicing.
* Repair and maintain a wide range of mechanical services and equipment on-site.
* Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with Health and Safety and other relevant legislation.
* Conduct fault finding and diagnosis.
* Perform routine inspections to ensure our estate is safe and fully compliant.
* Participate as a member of the On-Call Team, providing an emergency out-of-hours service on a rotational basis.

Person Specification
Qualifications:
* Recognised and registered CITB or EITB minimum three-year apprenticeship in plumbing/mechanical engineering.
* City & Guilds Parts 1, 2 & 3 OR NVQ Level 3 in mechanical engineering.
* City & Guilds Parts 1, 2 & 3 OR NVQ Level 3 plumbing.
* Full UK driving licence for the ability to drive Trust vehicles.
* BTEC, ONC in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Experience:
* Two years of relevant experience demonstrating high technical versatility and flexibility.
* Experience working in a mental health or secure services hospital environment.
