The Position
We are seeking individuals who have experience providing support for people with learning disabilities.
Facilitate participation in social contacts and community activities while offering a therapeutic, organised service that is in line with each person’s preferences and skills to provide person-centred assistance towards independence.
Our support staff member will:
* Promote the delivery of excellent person-centred care that supports each client’s independence and meets their unique requirements.
* Work both individually and in teams, stay awake the entire shift, pay attention, and be on guard at all times.
* Help clients maintain their identity and dignity while participating in everyday household chores.
* Encourage and uphold a secure environment for customers, employees, and guests.
* Assist clients with their personal and medical needs at night as needed.
* Give special attention to helping clients with physical learning disabilities or limited mobility make the most of the available supports.
* Observe the support planning needs of clients and complete daily records as directed and in accordance with the company’s rules and procedures.
* Report on clients’ well-being, adhere to assistance programs, and complete daily paperwork as directed.
About You
* Knowledge about or a desire to work with vulnerable people who have a range of complicated needs.
* While not required, prior experience in health and social care would be advantageous.
* A person-centred strategy accompanied by assistance.
* Capacity to collaborate with others.
* The capacity to make plans for both oneself and others.
* Effective time management involves setting priorities for tasks.
* Capacity to finish written notes.
* IT-savvy and self-assured enough to utilise it for documentation.
