Our Client is an International Freight Forwarding company providing international and logistical needs from 3PL to sea, road and air freight. Due to increased global growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Trade Compliance Coordinator to join their busy team in Heathrow.
As Trade Compliance Coordinator, you will support Key Account Trade Compliance Functions with KPI and product reporting.
Trade Compliance Coordinator duties include:
1. Working closely with line report and operators to ensure smooth movement of items across borders
2. Being able to determine correct tariff classifications for all supported brands within the Key Account function moving from the EU as required
3. Issuing country specific guidance (for the UK) to the business on additional import requirements for stock products predominantly from the EU
4. Maintain close liaison with line reporting and to provide support to the Head of function
5. Providing support on internal projects
6. Auditing and monitoring entries to ensure they are compliant with local import and export legislation, as well as to support brand KPI audit requirements
7. Ensure all operational activities are completed and followed up correctly in accordance with SOP's and organisational policy
8. Help facilitate Imports and Exports of non-stock goods, completing and supplying documents and declarations
9. Liaising with HMRC to assist with maintenance on customs procedures.
10. Maintenance of the CITES portal, uploading Import and Re-Export CITES certificates
11. Implement and improve new efficiencies in client workflow in conjunction with line manager
12. Report any sales leads (new clients) to the line manager for distribution to the sales team
13. Create and maintain written procedures
14. Ensure all reports and KPI are generated by given deadlines and handed to line manager for submission to each area of Key Accounts
15. Complete ad-hoc and spot checks on entries and submit reports to line manager and Head of Department weekly
Experience within customs/trade compliance within a large business or brokerage firm and an in-depth understanding of UK and EU Customs regulations is vital, as is s ound knowledge of international trade, import duties, commodity codes, incoterms, preference, and valuation.
You must be able to work as part of a team as well as confident working independently. You will need to be computer literate, particularly using Excel, and will have excellent communication skills, both verbally and written (fluent in English).
I n return, the successful Trade Compliance Coordinator will receive up to £30,000 in line with experience, as well as a benefits package.
