Description
Keoghs are seeking a Claims Handler (CH4) to join their Liverpool team. The claims handler will pro-actively manage a caseload of Public Liability and Employers Liability & Property Damage (up to and including reserve limits of £40,000) to conclusion. In addition to handling a case load, undertake auditing within the Department.
Key Accountabilities
1. Create accurate Claims Management System records
2. Ensure quality, service standards and productivity levels are maintained to a high standard
3. Develop client contacts and an understanding of the client culture
4. Attend client review meetings where appropriate
5. Assist with both internal & external auditing
6. Undertake projects and deliver within agreed timescales
7. Keep Managers informed of any client changes and issues
8. Report to Team Leader/Claims Unit Service Manager undertaking appropriate additional tasks
9. Allocate new claims as required
10. Carry out supervisory tasks appropriate to level and as per management instructions
11. Undertake monthly audits for all fee earners in the Department
12. Conduct client audits as required
13. Develop and maintain an audit process, allowing for feedback to be recorded and retained. Outputs to be communicated to the Head of Operations, Team leaders and file handler
Working Hours
35 hours per week, Monday-Friday 9am-5pm with 1 hour unpaid for lunch
Experience, Skills and Qualifications
1. Minimum 4 years claims handling, with at least 3 years in El/PL dealing with complex quantum
2. Significant experience in the evaluation, negotiation and settlement of Public/Employers' Liability Claims is essential
3. Experience providing training or supervising (desirable)
4. Technical delivery preferably includes some RSI or CRPS – but not essential
5. Effectively prioritises workload and organises own work effectively
6. Demonstrates an understanding of the market and industry
