Support Officer
Salary: £25,148.00 – £30,443.00
Contract type: 1 year fixed term contract to cover Maternity leave
Working hours: 35 hours a week, 9am – 5pm Monday -Friday
Additional Info: You will be part of the out of hours on call rota 1 week every 4 weeks, additional payment made on top of salary (All to be discussed at interview), Driving license and access to a car is essential (45p per mile reimbursed for business travel)

Role Overview
Are you looking for a rewarding job to help young people live safe, happy and independent lives? As a Support Officer, you will join our friendly and hard-working team in supporting independence, freedom, and choice as a keyworker to young people aged between 16 – 24 and based across Oxfordshire as residents in our scheme. You will play a key role in working towards achieving their goals for independent living.
Key responsibilities
1. Assess all new tenants and allocate beds according to procedures.
2. Provide information and advice to service users to assist them in establishing and maintaining their tenancy.
3. Ensure room checks and housekeeping void procedures are followed and that voids are kept to a minimum.
4. Ensure that tenancy/license is upheld.
5. Carry out risk assessments as necessary, liaising with other agencies where appropriate.
6. Promote user participation by providing information and advice to enable residents to participate more fully in decisions relating to them.
7. Ensure residents are safe and able to manage risks as necessary, often with the help of partner agencies.
8. Carry out designated H&S checks and facilities management of the building, reporting and monitoring maintenance issues and liaising with internal departments.

We want you to bring your knowledge and experience to play your part in improving people’s lives:
1. Experience of working in a customer-facing role, motivating complex and diverse client groups to sustain housing, health, and/or work outcomes.
2. An understanding of how to motivate people with complex and diverse issues, including alcohol or substance misuse, mental health trauma, and behavioral challenges.
3. An awareness of Universal Credit, Housing Benefits, and voluntary and statutory support agencies is advantageous.
4. Flexible to be part of the out of hours on call rota, 1 week every 4 weeks (additional payment made).
5. Driving license and access to a car is essential.
6. This role will require working alone more often than not, so discipline and self-motivation are key.
