The post holder will lead the implementation of the Safe Learning Environment Charter (SLEC), the expansion of good quality student placements, and manage the clinical education team working across the services in Patch 3. Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities Leadership To be a visible presence in service areas across the Trust, especially in Health & Justice and Patch 3 To lead and motivate staff to ensure a high standard of professionalism, efficiency and effectiveness, fostering a culture of continuous quality improvement. To be responsible for the ongoing development and sustainability of high quality and innovative practice and educational development within the Trust To support nursing and AHP colleagues to challenge practice and identify competency issues To establish and maintain an effective communication network both within the service and with key stakeholders across the Trust To work closely with the Trust educational team and organisational development team in the identification of services’ learning and educational needs, that reflect workforce development and strategic priorities To ensure all education aligns with other activities within the Trust to promote efficient ways of working and an inter-professional approach to education Managerial To participate in supervision in accordance with Trust policy To line manage a team of Clinical Educators and ensure that the broader education team is kept abreast of and involved in training developments To manage projects within agreed timescales utilising project management skills to ensure projects are delivered and acceptable to key stakeholders To be responsible for the staff development and training budgets relevant to this work stream To support in the financial forecasting of current and future training & development programmes To support the Trusts commitment to patient, carer and public involvement in the way services are planned, developed and provided and to incorporate this approach in a way which respects issues of equality and diversity in all aspects of work To maintain external links with national bodies to ensure our practice is in line with national guidance Practice Development Maintain an up to date knowledge of current trends in practice and research. Person specification Qualifications Essential criteria NMC or HCPC registration Desirable criteria Teaching Qualification Experience Essential criteria Broad range of post qualifying clinical experience Significant experience supporting the health teams in Health & Justice (H&J) and the Mental Health teams across MK Significant knowledge and understanding of the educational needs of teams working in H&J Significant experience of managing, training and supporting staff Significant line management experience Experience of developing, structured educational material, dissemination of best practice through educational programmes across acute, community, primary care settings and including patient information Experience of having worked across professional and organisational boundaries.
