New Business Manager - Home/Field Based - Oxford, Reading, Southampton, Swindon
Up to £48,000 depending on experience, uncapped bonus potential, company car or car allowance, and excellent company benefits.
We’re seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Business Manager with a passion for food and a strong background in the hospitality industry. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, securing, and managing key accounts, driving sales growth, and building long-term relationships with clients. Your ability to understand client needs and your enthusiasm for food will be key in delivering tailored solutions that exceed expectations.
Role responsibilities & Key Accountabilities:
1. Win new commercial business with customers whose food spend ranges from £300,000 to £2m annually, through active prospecting and managing a pipeline of opportunities.
2. Build cross-functional relationships with prospects to position Brakes as their next supply partner and encourage them to approach you when reviewing suppliers.
3. Achieve and surpass sales and margin targets aligned with the National Account New Business budget.
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality tender submissions within established guidelines.
5. Lead the launch of new business wins in partnership with the implementation team.
6. Identify joint opportunities within the wider UK group to secure new customers.
7. Contribute proactively to the National Account team by supporting business development goals and strategic initiatives.

Required skills and competencies:
* Proven experience in new business development or national account roles with success across multiple sectors and tender management.
* Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
* Strong solution selling and negotiation skills.
* Good commercial awareness and understanding of profit drivers.
* Knowledge of the Brakes business and the hospitality/catering marketplace.
* High energy and ability to perform under pressure and tight deadlines.
* Proficiency in technology, including PowerPoint and Excel, for presentations and tender evaluations.
