An opportunity has arisen for a social worker to permanently join the specialist team based at Salford Royal Hospital, providing specialist social work support to patients with Motor Neurone Disease (MND), Cerebral Palsy, Multiple Sclerosis, Acquired Brain Injury, Traumatic Brain Injury, and other long-term Neurological Conditions. We invite experienced qualified social work practitioners (at least level 2 to level 3 post qualified) to apply for this permanent full-time post.
You will join experienced and supportive Neurological Multi-Disciplinary Teams working across various wards and clinics and will gain valuable social work experience by working with this client group whose needs can be complex and challenging but very rewarding. The clinic work is Greater Manchester wide and provides invaluable support to people diagnosed with MND, especially for those at the early stages of such a diagnosis.
In addition, you will provide social work assessments for the safe discharge of Salford residents, set up services as required, attend MDT and professional meetings, and complete safeguarding investigations as required.
Ideally, you will have some experience of working with this client group and of working in a hospital setting or similar.
