Job Description
Legal & General are seeking an Asset Manager who can further enhance our renewables asset management capability, using their strong technical, engineering skills combined with an attention to detail to deliver best outcomes for the growing renewables portfolio.
We are seeking a team orientated individual who is pro-active with strong attention-to-detail, good communication skills and a flexible mind to join the Infrastructure Equity business. The successful candidate will join a growing European Renewables platform, with accountabilities focused on management and maximisation of performance of Legal & General's 110MW portfolio of UK solar projects, owned by the internal client.
Sitting within the existing team of three investment professionals - and supported by a wider infrastructure equity team including dedicated finance, investor relations, and legal functions - the candidate will monitor, evaluate, and report on the portfolio's performance, interacting directly with key stakeholders within and without Legal & General.
What you'll be doing:
1. Assisting in the preparation of the Asset Business Plans and monitoring performance vs. plan
2. Investigating, evaluating, and executing value creation opportunities on the portfolio
3. Working closely with key contractors (Operations & Maintenance; Power Off-taker), monitoring performance and establishing effective working relationships
4. Leading on the identification and capture of operational data to inform our understanding of investment performance
5. Liaising with the assets' valuers
6. Assisting in reporting both internally and externally
7. Carrying out a range of activities & projects to monitor and enhance the sustainability and operational efficiency of assets
8. Developing and maintaining good contacts with key advisors
9. Supporting legal and financial functions, for example preparation of board materials and annual accounts
10. Supporting the investment team to research and underwrite potential acquisitions
Qualifications
Who we're looking for:
1. Excellent academic background, with a numerical aptitude, strong A levels and a degree (engineering discipline preferred)
2. Infrastructure experience is required. This may come from a consultancy, investment management, or industrial background. Direct infrastructure asset management or investment management experience is preferred but not required
3. Experience in the power generation (thermal or renewable), transmission, or distribution sectors is strongly preferred.
4. An ability to challenge, innovate and create. As a growing sector for the business the candidate must be willing to share their views openly. The individual should aspire to direct management of subcontractor relationships
5. Highly organised with the ability to prioritise effectively
6. A team player and a good communicator
7. Microsoft Excel and Financial Modelling skills are preferred
