Job Summary: As an Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing our manufacturing operations, with a specific focus on fibre laser processing, press brake operations, and secondary engineering processes. Responsibilities: 1. Team Management: Lead and supervise a team of engineers, technicians, and production staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment. Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance evaluations to enhance individual and team performance. Identify training and development needs to enhance technical skills and operational efficiency. 1. Operations Oversight: Manage and optimize fibre laser processing, press brake operations, and secondary engineering processes, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and production schedules. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to streamline processes and improve overall operational efficiency. Identify bottlenecks, implement corrective actions, and develop strategies to enhance productivity and meet production targets. 1. Quality Assurance: Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure products meet or exceed customer expectations and industry standards. Develop and maintain quality management systems, including inspection procedures, documentation, and reporting. Analyze data and customer feedback to identify areas for improvement and drive continuous quality enhancement initiatives. 1. Supply Chain and Inventory Management: Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components for manufacturing operations. Monitor inventory levels, implement inventory control strategies, and optimize stock levels to minimize waste, reduce costs, and maintain production continuity. 1. Performance Analysis and Reporting: Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate operational efficiency and identify areas for improvement. Prepare regular reports on production output, quality, cost, and other relevant metrics for management review. Propose and implement process enhancements and cost-saving initiatives based on data-driven insights. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, operations management, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus. - Proven experience in managing operations within an engineering company, preferably in the sheet metal and steel plate fabrication industry. - In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with fibre laser processing, press brake operations, and secondary engineering processes. - Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop a diverse workforce. - Solid understanding of quality management systems and experience in implementing quality control measures. - Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making. - Proficiency in using manufacturing software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite. - Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and build relationships with customers and suppliers.
