Specialty Doctor Emergency Medicine with CESR Support & Rotations
We have been assigned by an NHS Trust in the East Midlands to recruit to their Specialty Doctor in Emergency Medicine with CESR Rotations vacancy on a permanent basis.
Our client's Emergency Department has recently undergone a complete renovation tripling in size and currently approximately 85,000 new patients are seen per annum. The department features a 10 cubicle Minors area, 22 bedded Majors area, a separate 6 cubicle Paediatric area (with a HDU cubicle and procedure room), and a state-of-the-art 7 bedded resus along with a training room, clinic area, 2 plaster rooms, 2 procedure rooms, a meeting room, and an office suite. The successful appointee will be working in a team of 10 consultants, and the department is funding for 10 Specialty Doctors, four Specialist Registrars, and 9 Junior Doctors. Support is provided to them with ALS, ATLS, and EPLS courses among others, and the Department runs weekly Junior Dr and Middle grade teaching sessions.
The successful appointee will be expected to fulfill various responsibilities including:
1. Active involvement in audit, clinical governance, and the development of departmental policies.
2. Playing an active role in the day-to-day management and administration of the Emergency Department.
3. Teaching and supervision of junior medical staff and nursing staff as appropriate, in conjunction with Consultant and Senior colleagues.
4. Participation in the out-of-hours On-Call service for the emergency department.
5. Involvement in Emergency Medicine multi-disciplinary teams and meetings.
This unique CESR rotation is intended to provide the clinician with the support and training required to successfully complete all aspects of the CESR process, providing specific three-month secondment-style modules to address relevant educational and competency needs including Anaesthesia, ITU, Acute Medicine, and Paediatrics.
Our client's location is a unique blend of rural countryside with quiet market towns and rolling fields, along with the shopping and nightlife of a cosmopolitan city, and excellent public and private schools within the catchment area. With current motorway and railway links to big cities such as Sheffield, London, and Birmingham, and an excellent international airport nearby, this is truly an excellent location with the best of both worlds.
