Part Time / 15 Hours Per Week / Permanent
Play a key role in maintaining excellent building standards for our tenants.
This is a great opportunity to join our team as a Cleaner/Caretaker and provide cleaning, security, repairs, and maintenance services at DOCK 3-5.
DOCK 3-5 is an exciting new development in space city Leicester, which opened in September 2024. There are a combination of offices, light industrial units, and meeting rooms. Our tenants who are based here are in the professional services sector.
Working under the guidance of the Operations Manager, you’ll maintain standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and the overall presentation of the building and external area. This will include repairing and maintaining fixtures and fittings to approved standards.
You’ll be based at DOCK 3-5; however, you may be required occasionally to work at other sites. Your working hours will be from 8am to 11am Monday to Friday, although you may occasionally be required to work different hours or over a weekend or in the evening.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll be responsible for fire and water testing and accompanying contractors around our building. While monitoring the condition of the building, a proportion of your time will be undertaking minor repairs such as changing light bulbs, basic plumbing, and painting. Acting as a keyholder, you’ll maintain the safety and security of premises, materials, and equipment. As part of your day-to-day duties, you’ll clean communal areas including corridors, toilets, and kitchens, clean customer offices, and maintain outside areas.
What you’ll need
You’ll have experience of building cleaning to a high standard and an awareness of health and safety, COSHH, and the safety requirements of buildings. With some experience of completing basic maintenance, whether at home or at work, you’ll be able to effectively carry out repairs to the building and external areas. You’ll have good communication skills with the ability to follow instructions to carry out duties efficiently while maintaining a professional relationship with tenants, contractors, and visitors. With the ability to physically lift/carry furniture and equivalent items, you’ll be required to set out furniture for meetings.
What we can offer you
As well as the satisfaction of helping to improve thousands of lives across Leicester, you can look forward to a work environment that encourages a healthy work/life balance. You’ll enjoy generous annual leave, membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme, and the option of flexible working. We’ll also give you the chance to develop your skills and expertise with a variety of training and development opportunities. In addition, you can choose from a number of flexible benefits, including childcare vouchers, discounts on city buses and trains, and help with relocation to Leicester, where appropriate.
