Job Description:
Do you hold sales experience within the events industry? Are you interested in working across some of the most unique museum venues across the North of England?
About us
Science Museum Group's Enterprises is an integral, profit-making function, allowing our museums to keep our collections accessible whilst investing in our cultural offer and customer experience.
We aim to inspire visitors with award-winning exhibitions, iconic objects and stories of incredible scientific achievement. Our museums' world-class collection will give you the opportunity to work in distinctive and truly remarkable settings which transform gala dinners, conferences, and private soirées into once-in-a-lifetime events. Events range from conferences, product launches, dinners, receptions, Christmas parties and private events.
To support this work, we are now looking for an Events Sales & Marketing Executive to join us across our Northern museum sites on a full-time permanent basis. In this role, you could be based in York (National Railway Museum) or Bradford (National Science & Media Museum) but with travel across all Northern sites.
About the role
As Events Sales & Marketing Executive, you will cover a wide range of responsibilities, from promoting our museums to confirming the event. You will be the first point of contact for any new and existing clients wishing to host an event with us. Ultimately this will support the continuous growth of business and will ensure that we have booked our venues to full potential.
About you
Joining us, you will have experience of working within events, with experience of responding to reactive sales enquiries. As an Events Sales & Marketing Executive, you'll be a 'people person' with a collaborative approach and the ability to make and maintain good connections. You will also be highly organised, able to prioritise and manage your time. With the marketing aspect of this role, you'll hold an interest in social media and digital marketing, with knowledge of email marketing platforms.
Don't feel you meet all the criteria? We welcome you to apply even if your experience doesn't match directly. With your transferable skills, you could be the right candidate for this, or other opportunities that we have.
