POSITION: SITE MANAGER
36.25 hours per week for 52 weeks per year
Split Shift: 7am - 10.30am and 2.30pm - 6.15pm
Statutory holiday entitlement of 25 days plus Bank Holidays
Band 3: Pt 6-11 (£23,893 - £25,979)
Line Manager: Headteacher and School Business Manager
Main Responsibilities:
1. Support the work of the Headteacher, Governors and Staff.
2. Liaise with the Headteacher on a daily basis.
3. Ensure that the appearance of the school both internally and externally aligns with the school’s ethos and mission statement.
4. Undertake and develop a programme of repair and maintenance of the school building, grounds, fixtures, furniture, equipment, and fittings.
5. Supervise cleaning staff, monitor cleaning standards, and organize out-of-term cleaning.
6. Secure the premises and contents, including operating fire and burglar alarms, CCTV, and key holder responsibilities.
7. Conduct inspections of the premises, including heating, lighting, and alarm systems, ensuring they are in good working order and compliant.
8. Perform the job description in accordance with the pay and conditions associated with local authority government manual workers.
9. Exercise initiative and take action when required.
10. Supervise/monitor all external contractors.
11. Manage cleaning staff to ensure they undertake their duties to a high standard.
12. Undertake Professional Development and training, as appropriate, both within school and through external agencies.
Specific Responsibilities:
1. Undertake cleaning of specific areas (this post includes a minimum of 9 hours per week cleaning).
2. Clear up bodily fluids after an accident, adhering to health and safety procedures.
3. Immediately undertake emergency cleaning, such as floods.
4. Implement an ongoing programme of repair and maintenance of the inside and outside of the school.
5. Complete general maintenance in plumbing, joinery, glazing, and decorating projects as required.
6. Liaise with outside agencies to ensure the school building, grounds, and premises are well maintained.
7. Undertake litter clearance from all external areas, including playing fields and playgrounds.
8. Remove graffiti promptly.
9. Undertake general caretaking/site managing duties, including:
o Maintaining the Site Manager's workspace.
o Maintaining lighting and heating.
o Monitoring energy usage.
o Porterage duties (carrying, moving).
o Monitoring work carried out by contractors.
10. Complete all paperwork associated with duties, including time-sheets, ordering stock, completion certificates, Health and Safety and Fire Audits, Fire Drill records, Risk Assessments, etc.
11. Maintain, order and manage stock within a defined budget.
12. Perform key holding duties, including opening and closing the premises and ensuring security and fire alarms are functioning correctly, with 24-hour call-out for emergencies, in conjunction with another key holder.

The Site Manager is directly responsible to the Headteacher.
