Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Scientist position in the Group of Dr Phil Holliger. The Group are further exploring the structure, function and fidelity of RNA polymerase ribozymes (PNAS 121: e2313332121 / Elife 7: e35255 / Science 332: 209).
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct research on RNA polymerase ribozymes.
2. Utilize recombinant DNA technology and molecular genetics techniques.
3. Engage in technology development and in vitro evolution.
4. Implement next-generation sequencing techniques and structural biology methods (CryoEM / X-ray crystallography).
5. Apply bioinformatics and machine learning techniques as needed.
Qualifications:
1. PhD degree in a biological subject or completion within 6 months.
2. Experience in recombinant DNA technology and molecular genetics techniques.
3. Interest in technology development.
4. Practical experience in bioinformatics and machine learning techniques is a bonus.
This is a three-year training and development position suitable for you if you have recently completed your doctoral studies, or you are looking to move into a new research discipline and/or need to further develop your research skills.
