About the Role
Jazz Pharmaceuticals is a global biopharma company dedicated to developing life-changing medicines for people with serious diseases. As an Environmental Sustainability Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the maintenance, development, and growth of our site's EHSS culture and performance.
Key Responsibilities
* Identify and report gaps, concerns, or deviations away from legislative compliance and assist in developing plans to close any gaps.
* Support the defining of training needs and activities to enhance EHSS culture and promote best practices.
* Actively promote sustainability initiatives and collaborate with other functions to achieve a better environmental footprint aligned with Jazz Corporate's ESG goals.
* Contribute to risk management strategy development and maintain the site's Environmental Permit.
* Liaise with regulators on compliance matters and work closely with the leadership team on audits and continuous improvement plans.
* Provide technical support to departments on environmental procedures and risk assessments.
* Lead KSP's Sustainability initiatives, including involvement in CSSI and CSRD reporting and projects like energy efficiency and resource conservation.
Requirements
* At least 5 years' experience in similar roles in highly regulated industries, e.g., manufacturing and/or pharma and/or chemical industries.
* Broad knowledge of UK Environmental and Health and Safety legislation associated with these industries.
* Good understanding of risks and hazards associated with COMAH, DSEAR, COSHH.
* Excellent prioritization, coordination, organizational, communication, and teamworking skills.
* Experience of leading on-site-wide environmental, health, and safety initiatives.
* Ability to communicate information clearly and accurately verbally and in written form.
* Able to introduce and implement effective EHSS systems to manage risks and hazards.
* Strong communication and teamworking skills.
