The Post
The Exeter Clinical Trials Unit (ExeCTU) is seeking a resourceful and organised team-player with clinical trials data management experience to join its Information Systems and Data Management (ISDM) team as a Clinical Trials Data Manager. The ISDM team currently consists of 10 staff members with multi-disciplinary skills in both data management and information systems. This role provides an opportunity to carry out data managements tasks while growing skills in areas such as system integrations, use of APIs, and programming reports in R.
ExeCTU uses REDCap as its primary tool for data capture and data management. The ideal candidate will have experience of working with REDCap, or an equivalent system, and have a commitment to ensuring data integrity and completeness. Data Managers can expect to assist with the set-up of clinical trial projects by inputting into Case Report Form and database design, and by completing testing. Data Managers also support the day-to-day management of study data by reviewing data for quality and completeness, raising queries, preparing data exports and reports, and liaising with investigator sites.
The Data Manager will need to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team consisting of ISDM colleagues, other CTU colleagues such as trial managers and statisticians, and with external investigators and their research teams. The Data Manager is typically assigned to several studies and will need to manage working on multiple tasks. Strong communication, interpersonal and team working skills, along with the ability to manage and meet deadlines, will allow the ideal candidate to excel in this role.
