What is the job role?
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Practitioner to join our Childrens Disability team on a permanent basis.
As a Senior Practitioner/Deputy Team Manager within our Children’s Services Team, you will assume a crucial role in managing and delivering effective and efficient services for children, young people, and their families.
Your responsibilities include providing professional supervision, adhering to Social Work England's code of practice, and contributing to team development. This role involves complex assessments, case management, and collaboration with other agencies to ensure the well-being of service users. Flexibility and commitment to working outside office hours are essential to meet the diverse needs of families.
This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a qualified and experienced Social Worker who has:
1. A current registration with Social Work England.
2. Good knowledge and post-qualifying experience in children's or adults' services.
3. A sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
4. A proven ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions.
The children, families and young people we work with come from a variety of backgrounds and in order to deliver the best possible care it is vital that we have a workforce that is culturally competent, representative and understands their unique experiences and perspectives.
Within our team men and people from minority ethnic backgrounds are currently under-represented across middle management, as a result we would like to encourage both men and people from minority ethnic backgrounds to apply for this post. This does not prevent individuals with other protected characteristics as set out within the Equality Act from applying for this post.
