We're looking for a dedicated Senior Learning Support Assistant to join a fantastic team in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire. In this role, you'll provide tailored support to students with autism, PDA, OCD, ADHD, and other complex needs, making a real difference in their education and daily lives. Position Details:
- Location: Near Borehamwood, Hertfordshire
- Position: Senior Learning Support Assistant
- Hours: 09:00-16:00 Monday - Friday
- Salary: £86-£90/day Inclusive of 12.07% Holiday Pay
- Contract: Temp to Perm
Key Responsibilities as a Senior Learning Support Assistant:
- Provide specialist support to students with autism and complex needs to help them achieve their full potential.
- Assist in implementing personalised learning plans, behavioural support profiles, and communication strategies.
- Use non-confrontational and non-directive approaches to support students effectively.
- Promote positive safeguarding practices and ensure the safety and well-being of all students.
- Help students access the curriculum by adapting materials and resources to meet individual needs.
- Monitor and record student progress, contributing to individual learning outcomes and risk assessments.
- Support students with personal care, therapy sessions, and daily routines, as required.
Senior Learning Support Assistant Skills & Requirements:
- Experience working with children with autism, ADHD, PDA, OCD, or complex needs.
- A compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting students with SEN.
- Strong ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
- Ability to work in a non-confrontational and non-directive manner.
- Understanding of child development, autism, and safeguarding principles.
- A relevant Level 3 qualification (or equivalent experience).
- GCSE English and Maths (Grade A-C or equivalent).
- Must be able to commute to near Borehamwood, Hertfordshire.
Desirable Skills
- Knowledge of the National Curriculum and strategies for differentiation.
- Familiarity with the SPELL framework and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) approaches.
- Experience in collaborating with external professionals, such as therapists and psychologists.
