Who are we?
We want to be the best place that any of our 6,600 colleagues have ever worked. We’re the UK’s largest long-term savings and retirement business, offering a range of products across our market-leading brands such as Standard Life, SunLife, Phoenix Life and ReAssure. Around 1 in 5 people in the UK has a pension with us. We’re a FTSE 100 organisation that is tackling key issues such as transitioning our portfolio to net zero by 2050, and we’re not done yet.
The role:
The Enterprise Transformation Office (ETO) is at the heart of change delivery across the Phoenix Group. We are transforming and simplifying how we get change done and landed safely for our Customers, Shareholders and Stakeholders across the organisation. We will focus on outcomes and the delivery of our strategy. Our focus will be on developing a top class change capability, embracing new ways of working and instilling a culture of delivery excellence across the Group.
The Product & Platform Transformation Lead will define and lead the strategy to transition the change delivery model towards a Product and Platform model across the Group.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Become a champion for the Product & Platform model, able to educate and influence throughout all levels of the organisation from ExCo through to the product delivery squads.
2. Help influence the cultural shift to embrace the core principles of a product mindset (product strategy, product discovery and product delivery).
3. Work through the financial accounting mechanics of funding enduring teams responsible for both run, small change and transformational change.
4. Design and embed key artifacts (a playbook) that enable us to assess in-flight change and new change for suitability of the P&P model and set these teams up for success.
5. Lead the strategic planning and phased implementation of a Product and Platform at Phoenix, ensuring alignment with the organization's overall business goals.
6. Develop a comprehensive roadmap outlining the steps and milestones for transition to the Product and Platform model across the Group, phasing in line with suitability and readiness assessment.
7. Support the definition of product and platform governance and ensure manageability with CMF and in line with industry standards.
8. Work with Business Units, Change Hubs and Group IT to develop a capability framework and a transition plan for change roles in a Product and Platform model.
9. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, driving a mindset of innovation and excellence with the product and platform teams.
10. Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of the transition to a Product and Platform way of working.
11. Identify, highlight and mitigate potential risks and challenges related to a product and platform transformation.
What are we looking for?
1. Demonstrable experience in leading the design and roll out of a large scale product and platform model in a large complex organisation.
2. Experience in delivering change via various methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Product & platform etc.).
3. Ability to coach Product Owners and lead colleagues through the transition to roles reflective of the new model.
4. Product Ownership Experience - ability to embed yourself into individual squads, for a finite period, to help optimise performance where required.
We want to hire the whole version of you.
We are committed to ensuring that everyone feels accepted and welcome applicants from all backgrounds. If your experience looks different from what we’ve advertised and you believe that you can bring value to the role, we’d love to hear from you.
If you require any adjustments to the recruitment process, please let us know so we can help you to be at your best.
