About The Role
Are you an experienced Engineering Manager looking for your next challenge? We seek a highly skilled and motivated individual to lead a garage engineering function, ensuring the fleet meets our client's standards while maintaining operational efficiency and cost control.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage a team including Workshop Managers, Engineers, Electricians, Fitters, Cleaners, and Contractors.
* Ensure maximum vehicle availability and compliance with industry regulations.
* Oversee health and safety policies, risk assessments, and regulatory compliance.
* Plan and manage vehicle maintenance, repairs, and budget allocation.
* Maintain garage premises, plant, and equipment to the highest standards.
* Monitor and enhance staff performance, training, and development.
* Ensure accurate documentation and record-keeping for compliance and reporting.
What We're Looking For
* Strong knowledge of mechanical & electrical engineering in vehicle maintenance.
* Experience in bus bodywork construction and transport regulations (DVSA, TfL, Department of Transport).
* Leadership experience in managing large teams and contractors.
* Understanding of health & safety legislation, COSHH, and manual handling regulations.
* Ability to plan, budget, and optimize resources effectively.
