An exciting opportunity has arisen for permanent Staff Nurses to join our nursing team within the surgical unit on Ward 5, Surgical Day Case Unit and Surgical Treatment Unit on either a full or part time basis. Our Surgical unit consists of 3 areas specialising in the care of patients undergoing both elective and non-elective surgical procedures. Our specialities include:
* General Surgery
* Gynaecology
* Breast
* ENT
* Ophthalmology
* Urology
* Orthopaedics
Our nursing teams are focused on the six C's, and we aim to provide a high quality service in a safe environment where the needs of each patient are cared for in a professional and holistic manner.
The successful applicant will possess excellent communication skills, team working skills and some knowledge of surgical procedures to join our busy unit. We will support your development in the post through excellent training opportunities, personal development planning and ongoing support.
We offer flexible working patterns on a roster basis which includes a well-balanced combination of days, nights and weekends in order to meet the needs of our patients and provide a fair and equal working environment for the whole team.
This post is Permanent
Hours per week: 37.5 (part time hours available)
Shift pattern: shifts will be either early (7:00-15:00), late (13:00-20:00), long day (7:00-20:00) or night shifts (19:30-7:30)
Main duties of the job
The role of a Staff Nurse is to support in the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of high quality nursing care. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the staff nurse will ensure patients receive the highest level of care, delivered using a holistic, patient-focused approach, while ensuring high standards of documentation are maintained.
