Component Engineer Stevenage or Bolton Contract (6 month) Competitive Salary: £50ph Hybrid Working 2 days on site: Monday-Friday Position Summary: The Senior Engineer/Component Engineer plays a pivotal role within the Component Engineering department, supporting both the engineering group and the broader business. This position is responsible for managing the administration of component data, providing technical advisement, liaising with suppliers, and responding to internal queries. The Senior Engineer/Component Engineer ensures the delivery of a comprehensive component service, offering technical expertise while maintaining accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards. Responsibilities: Process and maintain component data, ensuring it aligns with lifecycle status, Export Control regulations, and compliance with REACH and RoHS standards. Provide technical advice to internal teams on Electronic, Electrical, Mechanical, and Material commodities, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information is shared across the business. Collaborate with suppliers to gather necessary component information, process requests, and ensure that all components meet business and regulatory requirements. Address and resolve internal queries related to component data, technical specifications, and compliance concerns. Follow established departmental processes to complete administrative tasks and maintain the accuracy and integrity of component data within internal systems. Skillset and Experience Required: Strong understanding of components, parts, and their application in various engineering disciplines Education/Experience: A degree in Engineering or relevant experience is required, with a solid background in component engineering or a similar technical field. Proficient in MS Office tools (Outlook, Excel, Word) A strong concern for order, quality, and accuracy in managing data and handling administrative tasks. Capable of managing multiple issues, tasks, and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to facilitate effective interactions with internal teams and external stakeholders.
