Harrogate Convention Centre (HCC) is one of the UK’s most high-profile event venues, nestled in the unique Victorian Spa town of Harrogate. This uniquely flexible world-leading facility hosts events, conferences, exhibitions and must-see entertainment.
The role:
As our Venue Security Manager, you will be responsible for security at North Yorkshire Council's largest venue. You will manage the security elements of events and overall building security in conjunction with clients and colleagues, anticipating their needs, developing solutions to problems at all phases of events, advising on maximising security potential and ensuring processes fit within the levels and income compliance of Event Managers and other colleagues’ plans.
You will:
1. Ensure the design, procurement and delivery of manned guarding and stewarding contracts meets the needs of the venue’s operational security and evolving standards.
2. Ensure the safety of the public, attendees to the venue, staff and contractors, and lead on developing security resilience and counter-incident plans.
What you will bring:
1. Demonstrated experience in an existing security, military, or police background.
2. Thorough knowledge and experience of the event industry or similar.
3. Experience in a similar role within the events industry or an associated field.
4. Sound knowledge and understanding of related legislation and regulations.
5. Experience of budget management and revenue income responsibility.
6. Experience in contract management and negotiation.
7. A dynamic approach to achieving continuous improvement.
8. Excellent leadership and personnel management skills.
9. A security management qualification, at minimum UK level 3.
10. A current SIA license.
11. An IOSH or NEBOSH qualification.
This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
This post involves regular evening and weekend working.
