Main duties of the job An exciting opportunity has arisen within our expanding and innovative Perioperative care team at UHS. The post holder will work within the Perioperative care service, helping to ensure that patients are fully optimised prior to surgery to improve their experience, reduce perioperative risks and contribute to reducing elective surgery waiting times. The Perioperative care service at UHS comprises of surgical Pre-Assessment, the Perioperative anaemia service, Cardio-pulmonary exercise testing, Prehabilitation, fit for surgery school and a Shared decision making service. We will be expanding our current early screening programme to ensure appropriate referral of patients to the new Hampshire Orthopaedic Centre. Early Screening will increase both the number of patients receiving a perioperative risk screening and the number of patients receiving optimisation prior to surgery, providing benefits to the patients and the trust.
