Senior Respiratory Physiologist (Community)

To work unsupervised as a competent respiratory practitioner supporting the community respiratory service by ensuring community clinic reports are sent within deadline targets.
To participate in the training and supervision of the trainee respiratory Physiologists and ATO staff, ensuring quality standards are maintained.
Main duties of the job
o Reviewing and signing off Spirometry performed in Community Clinics
o To be competent in all routine investigations in the department including Spirometry +/- reversibility, respiratory muscle strength, full lung function test using nitrogen washout method.
o To act independently within appropriate occupational guidelines
o To undertake fitting and analysis of limited channel sleep studies and overnight oximetry. .
o Provide administrative support as required.
o Work in conjunction with other staff to ensure the service needs are met.
o Provide training and support to junior staff.
o Perform spirometry in a community setting when required.

Person Specification
Experience
* Minimum of 2 years post
* AHCS/RCCP registered
Qualifications
* ARTP Spirometry certificate
* BSc Clinical Physiology or equivalent
Skills, Knowledge and competencies
* Competent in recording and interpreting spirometry and full pulmonary function tests
* Experience of CPAP clinics using auto and fixed pressure devices.
