About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists to join the Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) to lead the Nursing Education service and to contribute to the collective culture and initiatives of a learning organisation. This role will provide dedicated leadership to the nursing education team and support the RCH strategic priority to be a leading academic health service. Based on site at RCH Parkville, this full-time ongoing Director position will promote and support inter-professional collaboration and learning through building effective and productive working relationships across disciplines.
What you’ll achieve:
1. Lead the vision, strategic priorities, and operational management of Nursing Education at RCH.
2. Engage and partner with the Chief Nursing Officer to contribute to and represent nursing education internally and externally.
3. Collaborate extensively and explore innovative methods of integrating practice development to support clinical practice standards.
4. Lead organisational achievement of the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards relevant for the Nursing Education department.
5. Build team capability and resilience, authorising and enabling a culture of curiosity and creativity.
Your skills and experience:
1. Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA).
2. Tertiary and postgraduate qualifications in education, and/or related management – at Masters level.
3. Demonstrated ability to conceptualise, develop and lead strategy implementation and large-scale transformational change.
Other requirements:
1. Current National Criminal Record Check, or willing to obtain.
2. Valid Working with Children Check.
3. Compliance with RCH’s “Staff Immunisation - Prevention of Vaccine Preventable Diseases” procedure.
