We are looking for an expert to oversee business activities at a Power Facility in Teesside, UK.
6 month contract role
50 per hour
Job Purpose:
To provide on-site leadership and support to drive sustainable improvements in plant performance across operations, maintenance, procurement, and HSSE.
The role involves implementing effective continuous improvement methodologies, fostering teamwork, and ensuring operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee daily operations to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and compliance with established standards.
2. Identify and address operational bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
3. Implement performance metrics to monitor and improve operational outputs.
4. Develop and execute improvement plans using methodologies like Lean, Six Sigma, or similar frameworks.
5. Analyse performance trends and implement corrective actions to address systemic issues.
6. Ensure improvements are embedded and sustained through effective process control.
7. Lead HSSE initiatives to foster a culture of safety and compliance.
8. Conduct regular audits and risk assessments, ensuring all activities meet regulatory and company standards.
9. Coordinate with maintenance teams to develop and execute preventative and predictive maintenance schedules.
10. Drive initiatives to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
11. Support procurement activities to ensure the availability of critical materials and services.
12. Work collaboratively to optimise supplier relationships and reduce costs without compromising quality.
13. Mentor and coach plant personnel to build capability and resilience within the team.
14. Foster cross-functional collaboration to enhance operational performance.
15. Act as a liaison between the customer's HQ and the facility, ensuring clear communication and alignment.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. Proven experience in power plant, process plant, or similar operational management roles.
2. Demonstrated expertise in continuous improvement and process optimisation.
3. Strong background in team management, with the ability to motivate and develop diverse teams.
4. In-depth knowledge of HSSE protocols and best practices.
5. Familiarity with procurement and supply chain processes in an industrial setting.
6. Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
7. Results-driven with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
8. Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
9. Adaptable and able to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Certification in Lean Six Sigma or other relevant process improvement methodologies.
2. Experience working in multinational or cross-cultural environments.
