We have an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Health and Safety Manager to join our Anglian Water contract team. You will be working as part of the alliance to lead Health, Safety & Welfare strategy and ensure delivery is monitored, managed and assured.
The Role
As a Health and Safety Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and driving our health and safety agenda for one of the largest main laying delivery routes in the UK.
Your strategic vision and leadership will inspire and guide our Health and Safety Advisors, who in turn support our operational teams to achieve excellence in health and safety practices.
Here are some of the activities that you'll get involved in:
* Develop and implement comprehensive health and safety strategies that align with organisational goals and regulatory requirements.
* Lead, mentor, and support a team of Health and Safety Advisors, ensuring they are equipped to guide operational teams effectively.
* Collaborate with senior management, external partners, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and promote best practices.
* Establish and monitor key performance indicators to track the effectiveness of health and safety initiatives.
* Drive the adoption of innovative health and safety solutions and practices.
* Report on HSE performance to stakeholders.
* Implement cultural changes to improve safety standards.
* Conduct audits, inspections, and accident investigations.
We would love to hear from you if you can demonstrate:
* Extensive experience in health and safety management in the utilities or construction industry, with a proven track record of successfully leading teams.
* In-depth knowledge of Health and Safety legislation.
* A NEBOSH Construction Certification or equivalent (e.g., HNC in Construction) as a minimum.
* A full UK Driving licence.
* Chartered IOSH Membership or actively working towards it.
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing and engaging stakeholders at all levels.
