Job summary We are excited to recruit 2 x RCEM Credentialed ACPs to our growing team and are seeking enthusiastic and dynamic individuals for an ACP post within the Emergency Department at Bristol Royal Infirmary and Weston General Hospital. There is 1 x vacancy at each site. We have a mix of RCEM credentialed and trainee ACPs from a diverse background of nursing, paramedicine and pharmacy and are looking to increase and develop our team. This post is based in the adult ED, with all ACPs expected to work autonomously across all areas of the adult ED (Fast Flow, Majors, Resuscitation, SDEC) The department has an excellent track record of supporting ACPs to successfully credential with RCEM and we have three credentialled adult ACPs on staff currently. This role is demanding, requiring significant experience, enthusiasm and drive to ensure the care we provide to deteriorating patients is evidence based, safe and effective. If we are unsuccessful in recruiting a Credentialed ACP at Bristol Royal Infirmary and/or Weston General hospital we will accept applications for a trainee post instead. Main duties of the job Demonstrate competency in all areas of the adult ED. Demonstrate the ability to look after patients with a wide range of pathologies from the life-threatening to the self-limiting Be able to identify the critically ill and injured, providing safe and effective immediate care Demonstrate expertise in resuscitation and be skilled in the practical procedures needed Demonstrate the skills to stablish the diagnosis and differential diagnosis rapidly, and initiate or plan for definitive care Work with all the in-patient and supporting specialties as well as primary care and prehospital services Demonstrate the skills to correctly identify who needs admission and who can be safely discharged. Undertake relevant additional activities across the four pillars of advanced practice (clinical practice, research, leadership & management, and education).
