Vacancy - Material Handling Operator

We are seeking Material Handling Operators to join our team at the Port of Liverpool to support the efficient operation of our Steels and Metals Terminal.
Your role
As a Material Handling Operator, you will operate the company’s plant and equipment in a safe and efficient manner, supporting the movement of steel and metal products across the terminal, ensuring activities are completed accurately and on time. You will inspect company plant and equipment for damage, reporting any incidents, accidents, dangerous occurrences or damage without delay, ensuring all machinery and working areas are kept clean and in line with agreed standards.
You will proactively focus on operating a safe working environment, identifying any hazards and taking action to remedy these immediately within agreed guidelines. Working in a physically demanding environment, you will predominantly be based in one area but may be required to use your skills across General Cargo and Bulk Terminal dependent upon business needs.
What you'll bring
You will ideally have previous experience working within an industrial general cargo/bulk handling, logistics or warehouse environment, with the ability to operate fork lift trucks (5 – 32MT). Experience of operating payloaders, skid steers and cranes (gantry, ship and shore) would also be beneficial as well as experience driving mobile harbour cranes.
You will have excellent communication skills and experience working as part of a team, along with the ability to multi-task and prioritise your workload effectively and be adaptable to change in a fast-paced environment. A commitment to maintaining Health and Safety standards, as well as demonstrating compliance to safety policies and procedures is key. A full valid driving licence is also essential for this role.
