About the Role
Built on an ambitious growth strategy, wienerberger has acquired and continues to acquire new businesses and capabilities to broaden the range of products and services available to our customers. As such, a new Director of Regional Supply Chain position has been created to help capitalise on these acquisitions and create a supply chain capable of growth. The role is pivotal to ensure our supply chain is optimised for efficiency, cost-effectiveness and resilience, whilst also finding synergies from acquisitions to deliver against our strategic objectives of growth, sustainability and customer satisfaction.
This senior leadership position will take a regional view, driving continuous improvement activity across all of our business units, fostering a culture of collaboration, and ensuring that our supply chain is responsive to market demand and industry trends in the UK & Ireland region.
You will ensure that our supply chain delivers exceptional service to customers, integrates sustainability initiatives, and complies with environmental regulations.
The duties are varied and include:
* Operations Leadership: oversee production scheduling, inventory management, logistics, and distribution functions, and implement innovative technologies and practices.
* Vendor and Supplier Relationships: oversee the relationships and contract negotiations with key suppliers, contractors, and logistics partners.
* Cost Control and Budget Management: oversee the supply chain budget, ensuring costs are controlled and that we are maximising ROI.
* Team Development and Leadership: lead and develop the supply chain team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
* Risk Management and Compliance: oversee the proactive identification and mitigation of risks within the supply chain.
This is a regional role and will require regular travel across UK & Ireland. A company car/allowance is provided.
About You
You will be an established senior leader with experience of Supply Chain. You will have comprehensive end-to-end supply chain knowledge (including procurement, production, logistics, warehousing, distribution, and inventory management).
You will also have:
* Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
* Lean and Six Sigma expertise (experience using process improvement methodologies to drive efficiency and reduce waste)
* Strong demand planning & forecasting skills
* In-depth knowledge of transportation management, (inc. route optimization, freight cost analysis, and distribution network design)
* Experience with warehouse & inventory management (inc. inventory control, stock levels, and order fulfilment strategies).
* Third-Party Logistics (3PL) understanding
* Knowledge of sustainable supply chain practices (particularly reducing environmental footprints and implementing eco-friendly logistics solutions).
* Technology expertise with supply chain software & ERP Systems
* Driving licence and flexibility to travel
* Awareness of the manufacturing sector is advantageous.
