CDM Coordinator Keltbray Infrastructure Services Limited’s Energy division are seeking an experienced and competent CDM Coordinator with a design and/or project management background to join our team working on overhead line and substation projects across Scotland. You will provide support to project stakeholders during the design and pre-construction stages to ensure their compliance with their statutory duties under CDM Regulations 2015. As CDM Coordinator you be responsible for providing CDM support, advice and guidance during the pre-construction/ECI phase, drive risk reduction, and encourage communication and cooperation during the transition from design through to the construction phase, adding value to our projects and for our clients. The CDM Coordinator needs the ability to develop good relationships and work collaboratively with the client, designers and third-party stakeholders on the project. You will co-ordinate the work of all the design functions and disciplines within the project team, ensuring that designers take proper account of the principles of prevention and any pre-construction information when preparing or modifying a design. Qualifications and Skills You will have; Experience within a similar position with a strong background in in construction, design and health and safety process. Experience in design risk management with the ability to produce and maintain hazard and risk registers. Strong technical knowledge, ideally obtained in the overhead line/substation/energy sector, however knowledge and experience gained in other sectors will also be considered. A thorough understanding of the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015, and other associated H&S legislation. The ability to produce, review and continually improve the processes and procedures applicable to the role. Strong verbal and written communication skills with an interpersonal style that will allow you to build effective relationships with all stakeholders. Proficient in the use of MS Office A driving licence is essential. Regular travel across UK will be required. Ideally a NEBOSH General Certificate in Construction Health & Safety or equivalent. Responsibilities You will be responsible for; Undertaking principal designer duties, as defined by the Construction (Design and Management) regulations 2015 (CDM) and as otherwise required of the role, including site visits, preparation of the preconstruction documentation and other associated duties Managing your own projects, being the key interface between the Client Teams, Design Teams, Principal Contractors, and other stakeholders to deliver projects in line with the Client’s remit, programme and budget. Ensuring that the Designers comply with their duties and co-operate with each other through the lifecycle of the project. Preparing the health and safety file for the project. Confirming the overall design scope (scope freeze) and ensuring all stakeholders are familiar with the design aspects and requirements of the project. Providing regular updates on progress, programme and budget to the Framework Manager, Planner and Commercial team. Carrying out thorough reviews of all site project information and construction drawings, and identification of design, construction and maintenance risks through Design Risk Reviews. Convene and Chair Hazard Review meetings, ensuring mandatory attendees are present, minutes are accurately recorded and circulated to all stakeholders for consideration. Ensuring there is sufficient time in the programme to undertake the design activities and that all information which may impact the design activity, including work undertaken by others, is provided in a timely manner to relevant stakeholders to allow early decision making at the outset of the design process. Manage the Design Compliance Audit Assurance report process. Ensure adequate design resources with correct competencies are engaged to meet the project requirements (including temporary works). Visiting project sites prior to construction to carry out initial risk appraisals.
