Grafters Recruit are currently looking for an Operations Assistant for a busy transport office based in Dagenham. The right candidate will be assisting and supporting the Depot Operation in the running of the Transport, Finance and Admin departments, ensuring an efficient and effective service provision. Monday - Friday 10am 8pm/6am-4pm Every other Saturday 6am-Midday £12.20ph Overtime DUTIES Keeping track of revenue requests and credit requests and action accordingly Planning the drivers routes in the most efficient way possible to reduce costs and improved productivity. Print drivers paperwork and hand out, making sure that the right customer own paperwork goes to the right driver for each delivery. Inducting new drivers (agency and fulltime) and provide training on the Epod system. Check the licenses of new drivers and check codes when they are attending site for the first time. Update customers each morning to the whereabouts of their deliveries and keeping them informed of any issues. Ordering stock items and company stationery To provide departmental holiday cover as required To update and maintain filing records. Facilitate good communication links with internal and external parties To assist the Traffic Office Team Leader with queries and resolutions. To work Saturdays on a rota basis as required by the Depot Manager. Using our in-house system TPN Connect. Monitoring PODs for outbound deliveries and chasing where necessary in line with service level agreements (SLAs). Managing claims for specific allocated customers. Building relationships with all customers and maintaining high standards of customer service. Answering emails and phone queries promptly and efficiently. General depot/transport administration. Assisting and guiding drivers where applicable. Allocate collections to drivers throughout the day, making sure theyre achievable and any failures are communicated at the earliest opportunity. Arranging the manning for the vehicles, speaking to our preferred suppliers in order to make sure the vehicles are manned appropriately for the following day/week.
