Play a part in delivering a high profile, high visibility urban project that will provide resilience to the area for years to come!
As the Works Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the safe delivery of this Civil Engineering project (value of around £40M) and for ensuring that all company procedures and construction phase plans and all associated documentation is suitable and sufficient.
Scope will include various types of piling, general civils works, FRC works with architectural finishes and urban realm improvements.
You will:
* Provide health and safety leadership to operational delivery teams
* Ensure the General Foremen and site supervisors are organised and well-motivated to safely meet the programme milestones
* Support the General Foreman and Subcontractors to work safely in accordance with assessed construction risks and with the control measures defined in the method statements and task briefs
* Provide necessary support to enable the project environmental risks, objectives and targets are met
* Compliance with all project documentation for the application of legislation.
* Manage and lead assigned resources
* Promote and maintain effective client and stakeholder relationships to protect and enhance the company’s reputation
* Support the Project Manager in defining the efficient and effective planning of the works (methodology) and plant and labour resources
* Ensure the timely ordering and delivery of all plant and equipment appropriate for safe delivery of the works and is secured and maintained effectively
To be successful in this position it is expected that:
* You hold relevant experience of working on civil engineering projects
* You have a track record in overseeing delivery via subcontractor, so it is likely you have experience of working for a Tier One or Tier Two Principal Contractor
* You would have been in your role for several years and built up some great knowledge of civil construction delivery
* You will hold as a minimum a SMSTS and a CSCS Card (ideally a black card)
On offer is a salary of around £70,000 - £75,000 per annum along with a company car or car allowance, and additional benefits
