Our Specialist Breast Cancer Nursing team is central to patients’ experience, providing them with expert information, guidance, advocacy, care, and compassion.

Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities
The CNS working within this team would be encouraged to have regular clinical supervision; will have a tailor-made induction programme planned and will have the opportunity for ongoing development.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
The role will include practicing at an advanced level to provide in-depth knowledge on the care pathway and complex needs of patients with breast cancer. This includes working clinically with patients and carers from the time of referral to provide specialist nursing advice and practical and psychosocial support, including Holistic Assessment and a Personalised care plan.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for a current senior Band 5 or a Band 6 senior nurse or CNS with relevant cancer, clinical or management experience to join our team. The successful candidate will be required to work 2 days a week from 8am-6pm (2 x 9.5-hour shifts).

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
* Registered nurse on relevant part of the NMC register
* Degree qualification or equivalent 120 credits at L6
* Post registration qualification within area of speciality.
* Completion of all Band 5 (preceptorship) competencies
* Extensive post registration experience within specialist area.
* Knowledge of current issues within the acute health service.
* Able to critically review and communicate clinical information.
* Registered on MSc Pathway – completion of HTPA Competencies
* Act in the role of Practice Assessor or supporting the progression of learners / supporting challenges as needed
* Counselling qualification
* Palliative care course
* IT training
* Multidisciplinary team working.
* Interest in nurse-led care.
* Organisational/strategic awareness.
* Clear about professional accountability and autonomous practice components of role.
