Technical Project Manager / Engineering Leader
Location: Paignton, Devon (Hybrid)
Salary: Up to £100k + share options + benefits
This is an exciting opportunity to join a start-up involved with the research, development, and design of optics/photonic technologies that radically improve network speed and energy efficiency.
Responsibilities:
* Act as the main liaison between internal and external hardware development teams.
* Work with suppliers in the UK and USA to ensure designs meet challenging and evolving requirements and product specifications.
* Oversee integration, validation, and approval activities for electronics product systems.
Requirements:
* A degree or master's in a relevant subject area (e.g., electronics engineering).
* Extensive industry experience delivering complex electronics products from concept to production in a similar environment (e.g., optical transceivers, photonics, network/data centre electronics, telecoms systems, storage/servers/HPC, consumer electronics, or specialist test and measurement products).
* Strong electronics product development knowledge (ideally FPGA/ASIC related).
* Excellent communication, organisation, and motivational skills.
* Proven technical leadership and project management capabilities.
* The ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving start-up organisation.
* Knowledge of high-speed network interfaces and optical transceiver systems is preferable.
* Knowledge of high-speed serial interfaces, DAC, ADC peripherals utilising QPSI, DSPI, SPI, as well as Xilinx FPGA design, ASIC design, or high-speed RF signal design (>60GHz) is excellent.
The Technical Project Manager / Engineering Leader role is based at the offices in Paignton, Devon, with at least 3 days onsite per week required. Some travel may be necessary between offices to supplier locations. Relocation assistance and working visas may be possible for the right candidate.
