Salary: between £25,000 to £30,000 per annum depending on experience
Hours: Ideally a Full-time role, but flexibility on hours will be considered.
Gael Force Group specialise in the building of marina pontoons, breakwaters, designing and building of feed barge operations and other aquaculture related engineering activities.
What is the job role?
We are searching for an Engineering Buyer to join our team at Gael Force Group Ltd to provide support to the Production and Project Management team through assisting with procurement activities including organising travel and accommodation, to coordinate the purchase of goods, materials and services for Engineering to ensure the company’s operational needs are met.
Key Responsibilities:
* To purchase equipment and material as required and directed by Production and Project Managers to meet production needs.
* To negotiate the supply of competitively priced materials and components for manufacture.
* Researching and identifying new sources of quality supply to maintain competitiveness.
* To maintain purchase order records on the applicable software for projects, ensuring accuracy of job costs.
* Carry out material take offs in support of ongoing projects.
* Managing external suppliers to meet cost, quality and delivery requirements and reviewing supplier performance.
* Maintain supplier records in accordance with the Group Supplier Management Procedure.
* To purchase consumables and personal protective equipment (PPE) in line with budget ensuring it is accurately recorded in line with company Purchasing Procedure, placing orders in a timely manner to achieve production delivery schedules.
* Processing of Purchase Orders based on Production and Project Manager’s instruction.
* To ensure all hires of tools and plant are negotiated and monitored throughout hire.
* To ensure owners of Purchase Requisitions are kept up to date with delivery times.
* Assisting Project Managers with admin tasks such as booking accommodation and travel for employees.
Minimum Requirements:
* Experience of purchasing and sourcing components in an engineering environment.
* Proficient in MS Office – emphasis on Excel, especially Pivot tables and basic formulas.
* Strong service-orientation.
* Can demonstrate a proven ability to multitask, prioritise and meet strict deadlines.
* Clear verbal and written communication skills.
