Job summary An opportunity has come up for an Ophthalmic Specialist Nurse. This role will be to support Emergency Ophthalmic Flow within the Trust, and the treatment and management of ophthalmic patients. Main duties of the job Specific Job Role and Purpose - Ophthalmic Specialist nurse o Coordinating patient Ophthalmic pathways in line with national/local targets and clinical needo Clinics to support Rapid Access clinics.o Outreach and pull from the Emergency Department to support streaming of ophthalmic patients.o Support Triage of emergency referrals, and the development of pathways for these patients.o Ensure care programmes and pathways meet GIRFT recommendations and evidence-based practice.
