CPC Qualified Transport & Fleet Manager – c£38k - £40k +Bonus + Bens + Prospects
Location: Avonmouth
Working Hours: Monday – Friday
Client Profile:
Our client is a well-established, non-food FMCG distribution organisation with 4 main sites supplying larger items to a host of commercial clients across the UK. The role focuses on delivery, collections/returns as well as fleet management.
Summary of Responsibilities:
1. Management of a fleet of 6 x 3.5 tonne vans and drivers.
2. Warehouse planning and assignment of local crew and freelancers.
3. Planning and coordinating deliveries.
4. Ensuring vehicle maintenance and compliance with transport regulations.
5. Optimising transport operations for timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
6. Arranging and applying for an O license and assisting with the purchase of heavy haulage vehicles.
7. Checking and managing digital Tachograph cards.
8. Maintaining vehicles in good working order, including regular servicing and inspections.
9. Coordinating repairs, MOT’s servicing and maintenance schedules to minimise downtime.
10. Booking crew onto the master jobs sheet and allocating requisite drivers and assistant crew to each job.
11. Liaising with the warehouse on availability of stock, job completion, and loading.
12. Conducting regular performance reviews and providing feedback and development opportunities for staff.
13. Handling customer inquiries and resolving any issues related to transport and delivery.
14. Maintaining accurate records of vehicle maintenance, inspections, and driver hours.
15. Monitoring and managing transport costs, including fuel, maintenance, and staffing.
16. Preparing regular reports on transport operations, including performance metrics, costs, and issues.
Ideal Candidate:
1. Must hold a current Transport Managers CPC.
2. Ideally an O’ Licence holder.
3. Leadership skills with excellent organizational abilities.
4. A knowledge of purchasing 18 tonne trucks or heavy haul trucks would also be useful.
5. Valid driver’s license.
