Company turning their products into smart productsreally good “from scratch” design projects JOB SCOPE The client company are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Embedded Software and Hardware Design Engineer to lead development on new and existing product design within the instrumentation and process control industry.The role has the opportunity to develop brand new wireless products to modernise the industry and the hiring of a new junior engineer to work alongside. The candidate must be capable of managing all areas of software, hardware and product development and will be a good fit for an engineer with managerial experience or someone looking to get there first break in leading development. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Design responsibilities. Project Management – coordinating all the activities associated with the design, development, quality certification and productionisation of new products. Industrial indicators and controllers Process control equipment. Staff Management Overseeing and coordinating the day‐to‐day activities of the electronics engineering and production team, identifying resource issues, shortages and communication. Ensuring the Electronics Team have ample opportunity to share and highlight actual and potential problems. Support responsibilities. Sustainability of current products Production Quality and Issues Customer enquiries Customer issues 2nd line Supply Chain ‐ Maintaining Documentation ESSENTIAL SKILLS Degree qualification in Electronic Engineering or equivalent Proficient in embedded programming for micro‐controllers in C & C++ Proficient in PCB hardware schematic design and layout Design (Easy‐PC) Proficient in PC based software programming Embedded software(C/C++) design and implementation for microcontrollers PIC micro‐controllers ARM micro‐controllers (STM32 and others) RTOS and multi‐threaded applications Bare metal programming GUI and HMI design from simple keypad interface to LCD touchscreens Digital communication interfaces such as SPI, I2C, UART, USB, Ethernet Industrial communication interfaces such as Ethernet, Modbus, Profibus, Profinet PC based software(C++/C# etc.) design and implementation Simple GUIs for product user configuration Production automated test applications Hardware schematic design and PCB layout Digital and analogue design High accuracy mV ADCs SMPS design Industrial communication interfaces Multi‐layer PCBs Product testing and evaluation Functionality testing and debugging Writing supporting documentation.
