Healthcare Support Worker - Critical Care

This is a very exciting time for the Critical Care Department at UHD as we merge our teams and move into a brand new State of the Art Unit. Our team of Health care Support Workers work with the Multi-disciplinary team to deliver excellent care to our patients. Training and support for the role is provided by the education team.
This post is being advertised as a Band 3; however, applicants that do not meet the required care certificate competencies will initially be employed as a Band 2. Applicants who hold a care certificate accreditation will start in post at Band 3.

Base Location: Royal Bournemouth Hospital. Cross-site working may be required when necessary to meet the service needs.

Person Specification
Experience
* Experience of working in a team under appropriate supervision.
* Able to demonstrate an understanding of principles of effective customer care.
* Good basic hygiene skills (e.g., food handling, hand washing).
* Previous experience of working within a care environment/NHS.
* Experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Experience of working with the public.
Qualifications
* Good standard of general education including literacy and numeracy.
Technical Skills and Competencies
* Ability to communicate clearly and effectively (to understand and be understood).
* Ability to follow clear instructions and feed back to senior staff.
* Ability to work as part of a team, as well as on own initiative.
