ABOUT US:
Located in Londons Mayfair andoverlooking Green Park, The Royal Air Force Club is a private members club that opened its doors in 1922. The Club offers first-class facilitiesand a home from home' to its 24,000 members, predominantly serving and former officers of the RAF and Allied Air Forces and their families. With 110 bedrooms and 10 meeting and banqueting rooms, the Club is a truly hidden gem with modern and elegant interiors and facilities.
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
As a Receptionist (casual) you will be responsible for working as a team to ensure the smooth operation and running of the Front Office department at The Royal Air Force Club. You will undertake Duty Manager Responsibilities as and when required.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
1. To provide all members and visitors to the club with a warm and friendly welcome.To always maintain and adhere to all other club standards and front office procedures.
2. To check in and check out (Opera system) members and guests, according to club standards.
3. To assist in the sale of club shop items & guest supplies.
4. Liaise effectively with all other departments in the club to ensure member and guest expectations are met.
5. Perform all jobs within the front desk, as per rota.
6. Take reservations in absence of Reservations Supervisor/Reservationist
7. Ensure that reception uses members' names and rank whenever possible and extend a warm and friendly greeting to all members, paying particular attention to VIP members.
8. Respond effectively to and resolve member complaints/issues. Report as necessary & take action to avoid similar future problems.Report any incidents at the club in the DM log.
9. Have impeccable time keeping (for shifts, meetings and training) in accordance with club standards (whilst presenting yourself as a role-model).
10. Support the Concierge team where required.
Finance:
1. Ensure adherence with all credit policies/procedures and daily banking reconciliation to avoid and reduce monies discrepancies.
2. Daily postings and ensure all relevant paperwork is correctly completed.
3. Ensuring cash in/out procedures are carried out effectively.
Management of Front Desk Resources:
1. Monitor the use of all stationery and carry out relevant stock checks re-order when necessary.
2. Assist with Security where required, ensuring fire equipment is working & appropriately maintained in accordance with fire procedures
3. Assist with IT ensuring all computer and software equipment is working.
4. Assist with Security in maintaining door alarm routines & systems
5. Assist Security in maintaining surveillance equipment routines and systems.
