CNC Toolmaker You will be responsible for producing precision tools, moulds, and components using conventional, CNC and EDM machinery. This role requires strong technical expertise, a commitment to quality, and the ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced production environment. Key Responsibilities Tool Production: Design, manufacture, and maintain precision tools, jigs, and fixtures using a range of manual, EDM and CNC machines to produce deep draw press and plastic moulding tooling. Programming: Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs using CAD/CAM software to ensure efficient and accurate machining. Machine Setup: Set up and operate CNC milling, turning, grinding, and other machinery as required, ensuring proper tool alignment and machine calibration. Inspection and Quality Control: Use precision measuring instruments (e.g. micrometres, callipers, gauges) to inspect finished products and ensure they meet specifications and tolerances. Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve machining and tooling issues to maintain quality and efficiency in production. Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, production teams, and other toolmakers to optimize processes and achieve production goals. Required Experience Qualified/Time served engineer with relevant experience CNC machining (Lathe and Miller) Manual machining Preferred Experience Tool Maker: 4 years EDM machining (Wire and Die Sink) Use of CAD/CAM software (SolidWorks preferable) Wage and Hours Job Type: Full-time Expected hours: 40 Hours per week (following induction period) Wage: £16.70 minimum shift rate (Rate of pay depending on experience) Schedule: Starting day shift for induction period, rotating early and back shift following induction. Day Shift- 7:30-15:30 Monday-Thursday, 7:30-14:30 Friday Early shift- 6:00-14:00 Monday-Friday Back shift- 14:00-22:00 Monday-Friday
