ABOUT THIS ROLE Job Title: Head of Commercial Development & Engagement Salary: £47,000 to £50,000 per annum pro rata Hours: 30 hours per week Duration: Permanent Base: East Lancashire Overview This is a new role which will focus on maximising unrestricted income generation for the charity including corporate support, community fundraising / events, individual giving and commercial development. This challenging and exciting role will be a member of the Senior Leadership Team and will contribute to the ongoing growth and sustainability of the charity. They will be responsible for developing the commercial and strategic communication plans to maximise revenue generation and unrestricted income. This role requires dynamic, creative, and effective leadership. With strong commercial acumen and the ability to collaborate with teams to create and deliver commercial opportunities. You should be a confident and natural leader who can clearly communicate a compelling future direction for income generation and marketing for Lancashire Women. Alongside this you will be a critical thinker who utilises data and trends to make informed decisions, analyses results to identify areas for improvement, and embraces a continuous learning mindset that values both successes and failures striving to ensure progress towards securing new income sources and support. MAIN DUTIES Roles & Responsibilities To work on product innovation, assessing feasibility and ability to deliver activities or products at scale alongside the ongoing development of existing products eg. Handywoman Service into more commercially profitable and longer-term business opportunities. Inspire and lead a motivated team, fostering a culture of ownership and accountability for income generation goals and in line with financial and strategic goals, propose, monitor, and achieve ambitious annual targets for income generation. Engagement – Communications and Marketing. To develop and oversee a cohesive marketing and communications strategy for LW, elevating and enhancing the Lancashire Women brand and values, ensuring clear, consistent, and impactful messaging that resonates with our diverse audiences and drives our organisational priorities. Oversee all communications channels, including digital and social media and ensure an effective and consistent use of the charity’s brand narrative, identity and positioning. Review and improve the opportunities for supporter engagement at all levels that drives their acquisition, retention, and maximises supporter lifetime value through effective stewardship To communicate impact, learnings and outcomes of external relations and owned media activity to the Senior Leadership Team and Board as required. Wider Duties / responsibilities: Provide line-management to the Business Development Manager, Content Marketing Officer, Business Development Officer (PT) in line with agreed policy and practice. Compile information and data for reporting to SLT / CEO and to the Board of Trustees as required. Take an active role within the SLT, working collaboratively to support the strategic aims of LW. Ensure work adheres to and is compliant with accepted regulation and wider statutory requirements eg. Code of Fundraising etc Other: The Senior Leadership Team are a dynamic team working together to provide collective leadership to achieve the aims and objectives of Lancashire Women. They work collaboratively across the portfolios and play an active role in driving forward cultural, change and strategic change across the organisation. The postholder must be proactive in keeping their professional knowledge up to date and have a commitment to personal and professional development and can build strong working relationships with the CEO, Trustees, Stakeholders, and the rest of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT). PERSON SPECIFICATION Qualifications & Experience Educated to degree level in related subject or equivalent experience. (Essential) Experience of managing/delivering fundraising and income generation arena for charities/third sector at a local, regional and national level. (Essential) Demonstrate a good level of IT literacy with use of appropriate reporting tools and IT support systems including MS Office 365 and MS Dynamics or alternative CRM. (Essential) Experience of project management techniques including risk management/mitigation processes. (Essential) Senior experience at strategic level in income generation specifically in commercial development and corporate support/sponsorship, but possibly including individual giving/donor stewardship and community fundraising. (Essential) Other qualification in Sales, Marketing, Retail and/or related field. (Desirable) Skills & Knowledge Good understanding of how commercial development and working with the private sector and corporate interests exists within a charity. (Essential) Ability to develop and manage a multidisciplinary team to achieve income raising targets and growth ensuring delivery of outstanding results for Lancashire Women.
