GSL Education are seeking a SEN Support Worker to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Christchurch. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with experience in SEN education, care work, or disability support who are committed to making a positive impact in the lives of young learners.
SEN Support Worker Key Responsibilities
* Provide one-to-one and small-group support for students with SEN.
* Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies.
* Support students in developing social skills, confidence, and emotional regulation.
* Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
* Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals.
* Encourage students’ independence while providing necessary guidance and assistance.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
* Experience working with children or young people with SEN (desirable but not essential).
* A strong understanding of autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, and other additional needs.
* Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
* A proactive and positive attitude towards supporting children’s individual needs.
* Relevant qualifications in SEN, Education, or Health & Social Care (preferred but not essential).
