Avantor is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Supply Chain Apprentice to join the team based in Macclesfield, UK. In this apprenticeship, you’ll support the service team's day-to-day workload and output while providing excellent customer service.
As part of your training, you will rotate between two interconnected supply chain areas at Avantor Services over 18 months. You will also work towards earning your Level 3 Supply Chain Leader Qualification.
This full-time apprenticeship is based at the customer site in Macclesfield. You’ll have one full day of online or onsite learning each month, with time allocated during working hours to complete the course. Working hours: Monday to Friday with flexible start times between 7:00 and 8:00, and end times between 15:00 and 16:00.
The team:
You will work closely with up to 5 colleagues in a cooperative environment, striving together to achieve common goals. You will be part of our Lab and Production Services department, which supports leading pharmaceutical companies and laboratories worldwide in Research and Development within the Life Sciences industry.
What we are looking for:
Education: Minimum of 5 GCSEs or above (including Maths and English)
Experience: No working experience required; Full training provided
Preferred capabilities/qualifications:
* A-levels
* Good in MS Office; IT literate with experience in multiple software packages
* Ability to understand and follow Health & Safety instructions
* Capability to communicate effectively, process-driven, and elevated level of attention to details
How you will thrive and create an impact:
* Order and manage consumable items for laboratory and production areas.
* Learn to use system and customer procurement tools.
* Act as the main contact for customers, regularly engaging to understand their needs.
* Troubleshoot procurement issues.
* Liaise with customers' Procurement and external suppliers to secure the best prices and manage stock proactively.
* Perform data entry and analysis using tools like Excel.
* Provide key metrics to meet goals and targets.
